About Us

Our mission...

Our mission is to raise Christ-followers, by our example in living, who glorify God in their actions, unite in an authentic life with each other, cultivate a relationship with Christ, serve God through service to others, and influence the world around them.

Our vision...

God has called us to be a port where Christ-followers come to weather storms, resupply for their journey, and then launch out again to be a missionary in their world.

Fulfilling the mission...

Following the example of the first Christians at Antioch, we want to be active in the lives of the people in our fellowship, encouraging them to share the love of Christ, equipping them for the mission they have been called to carry out and launching them back into the mission field to influence the world God has placed them in.

Acts 11:19-30
Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen's death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria. They preached the word of God, but only to Jews. However, some of the believers who went to Antioch from Cyprus and Cyrene began preaching to the Gentiles about the Lord Jesus. The power of the Lord was with them, and a large number of these Gentiles believed and turned to the Lord. When the church at Jerusalem heard what had happened, they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he arrived and saw this evidence of God's blessing, he was filled with joy, and he encouraged the believers to stay true to the Lord. Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and strong in faith. And many people were brought to the Lord. Then Barnabas went on to Tarsus to look for Saul. When he found him, he brought him back to Antioch. Both of them stayed there with the church for a full year, teaching large crowds of people. (It was at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians.)  During this time some prophets traveled from Jerusalem to Antioch. One of them named Agabus stood up in one of the meetings and predicted by the Spirit that a great famine was coming upon the entire Roman world. (This was fulfilled during the reign of Claudius.) So the believers in Antioch decided to send relief to the brothers and sisters in Judea, everyone giving as much as they could. This they did, entrusting their gifts to Barnabas and Saul to take to the elders of the church in Jerusalem.

Acts 13:1-3
Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers, Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a member of the court of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.

Worship Style:
In our worship we sing many hymns, and some choruses.  Some are quick-tempoed and lively, others are slower and more reflective, giving you time to think about what you are singing.  Some of the hymns have older styles of wording, but the thoughts expressed can bring a lot of benefit and teach a lot to the one singing when they are reflected upon.

Preaching:
We believe that God’s Word is completely inspired by God, word-for-word (see 2 Timothy 3:16).  Because of this, all preaching is straight from the Bible, as we see what God has to say from the text at hand, or the topic under study.
